Our Mission
Founded in 2025, Point Initiated is dedicated to supporting the officers and families of the Special Activities Group (SAG) within the CIA’s Directorate of Science and Technology.
Our legacy traces back to World War II and the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), led by William J. “Wild Bill” Donovan, who described a new kind of warfare one built on “the arts of deception, sabotage, and deadly tricks and deadly devices.” From its earliest days, this quiet profession demanded ingenuity, courage, and a willingness to operate in the shadows to protect the nation. The men and women supported by Point Initiated are the inheritors of that tradition, professionals who have continued this legacy of service in those same shadows around the world.
Through the evolution of the OSS into today’s CIA, that mission has endured. What began as an unconventional capability during global war became a permanent and essential instrument of national power, advancing U.S. interests in the world’s most challenging and sensitive environments.
Point Initiated honors that legacy.
We exist to provide meaningful assistance, trusted resources, and a strong community to those who have served, and to the families who stand beside them. The work has always required sacrifice; often unseen, often unspoken. Our commitment is simple: those who have carried that burden, and the loved ones who supported them, will never stand alone.
In honoring the past, we strengthen the present and ensure that the legacy of quiet professionals endures for generations to come.
